My Dear Midtowner’s,

Greeting’s and Compliment’s of the Season, for A Very Happy and Prosperous Diwali, from First Lady Sejal and me.

October was a month of Pooja’s and Diwali Celebration’s, and we at Midtown celebrated the Diwali Nite, with great enthusiasm – by way of our Gujarati Midtowner’s hosting a well attended Fellowship Event on 28th.October 2017.

We followed up vigorously on the Rotary Foundation Centennial Project,(TEACH) and had 54 desk’s belivered to Maruti School, Kanakpura Road. Official handing over will be scheduled sometime during November.

We also finalised our TEACH Project 2017-18, of providing Teaching Aid’s to 20 Schools in association with M/s.Sansera and Meghshala at a Total project cost of Rs.10 lakhs from Midtown.

Our Long Terms Project’s are progressing well and constant monitoring and mentoring are being scheduled.

We look forward to interesting event’s at our Club, during November 2017 – event’s such as Blood Donation Camp’s, Tree Planting Scheme’s and of course our District Governor’s Official Visit to our Club scheduled for 17th.November 2017.

Looking forward to your active participation, and With Best Rotary Regards,

Uday Masturlal

Greetings to Members, Ann’s and Annets,

Hope the festive Diwali season has brought with it, happiness, joy and good health to everyone. We were able to manage some good things get done for the month and would like to share first and foremost, the tremendous effort our Ann’s collectively have put in to bring about a change at the Friends In Need Old Age Home. Our Ann’s have successfully helped complete terrace restoration work at the old age home and put up a block of Six toilets for use by the lady inmates which was much needed. I am sure the residents of the home will appreciate the work done for a long time to come.

We brought the curtain down on the Diwali season with a well received hosting of a Gujarati Dinner and Diwali nite and were happy to see our members, ann’s and annets enjoy the evening graciously hosted by the Gujarati community in Midtown Club.

We will now be looking forward to a successful GOV meeting and will request all members to heartily participate and showcase the commitment Midtown members have towards Rotary and its projects.

Wishing all a Happy November,

Regards,

Kunal Patel

In many ways, The Rotary Foundation is an invisible presence in our clubs. Most of what we do in our clubs and our districts, on a weekly basis, we do without the active involvement of the Foundation. But our Foundation is invisible in our clubs in the same way the foundation of a building is invisible when you’re in it: Just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not holding you up.

The Foundation that enabled Rotary to take on poli…o is, in many ways, the foundation upon which our Rotary service is built. For 100 years, since it came into existence with a first donation of $26.50, the Foundation has supported and strengthened our service, enabled our ambitions, and allowed us to be the organization that we are. Because of the Foundation, Rotarians know that if we have the ambition and put in the work, very little is truly beyond us.

It is an incredibly effective model that we have here in Rotary, one that no other organization can match. We are completely local and completely global: We have local skills, connections, and knowledge in over 35,000 clubs, in nearly every country of the world. We have a deserved reputation for transparency, effectiveness, and good business practices, and because we are highly skilled professionals as well as volunteers, we achieve a level of efficiency that very few other organizations can approach.

To put it simply, a dollar given to The Rotary Foundation has a great deal more muscle than a dollar given to most charities. If you want to spend a dollar on Doing Good in the World, you can’t do better than to spend it with the Foundation. That is not just me speaking out of pride; it is verifiably true and is reflected in our rankings by independent organizations.

In the Foundation’s centennial year, Rotarians surpassed our goal of raising $300 million. If you were part of that achievement, you have been part of something tremendous. Somewhere in the world, someplace you have probably never been, people you may never meet will lead better lives because of you. Ultimately, it is our Foundation that lets us make good on our core beliefs: that we can make a difference, that we have an obligation to do so, and that working together, as well and as efficiently as we can, is the only way to effect real and lasting change.
