MESSAGE FROM

THE SECRETARY:

Dear Members,

Over the past 2 months we had

some engaging speaker meetings

and I hope all of you enjoyed them.

We are truly excited and motivated about the increased

turnouts to these meetings and are working hard to get

more speakers in the coming months.

We are also proposing to invite some NGO and social

organisations as well as social entrepreneurs to come and

pitch their projects to our club, the intent of this exercise

is to ???nd projects in line with the vision of Rotary

International. Such projects can be evaluated for either

funding or co-opting. Considering the paucity of time our

members have, this may be a good route to identify

projects and people who will bring to us not only projects

but the necessary passion to execute them. Stay tuned for

more information in this regard. I wish you all a happy

Dussehra and Diwali in advance.

May this festive season bring you and your family lots of

love, peace and prosperity.

Regards

Narendra Pasuparthy

Secretary Ry 2016-17

MESSAGE FROM

THE PRESIDENT:

Dear Members,

Hope all are enjoying a good week!

It???s been over two months since our

team has taken over and we are

enjoying doing the community services and fellowship

events with all of you. Rotary International has

understood the challenges regarding time faced by the

members and in our case our traf???c situation adds to the

issue! That’s why the recent Council on Legislation

adopted some innovative measures that allow clubs to

vary their meeting times and expand their pool of

prospective members. Clubs have more ???exibility now to

respond to the needs of their members and to clear away

as many barriers to attending meetings as they can. We

have cut down the number of meetings per month to three

which includes one fellowship/ ???exible meeting –

regarding vocational/ new generation or community

service visit. We continue to need more willing hands,

more caring hearts, and more bright minds to move our

work forward, need you to join in as many service projects

possible – every little gesture uplifts the heart of a needy.

See you soon!

Warmest wishes

Nishu Jouhari

President RY 2016-17.

Benefits of Sugarcane

Sugarcane is an important member of the grass

family. It consists of sucrose and has several

nutrients included in it which aids in

maintaining good health. Many of the bene???ts

are not known by people. Sugarcane juice not

only helps to add on healthy form of sugar in

the bloodstream, it contains vitamins and

minerals that can protect the system from ???u,

freezing and sore throat. Sugarcane juice is one

fruit juice that has a high level of natural

sweetness. One does not have to add on

additional sugar to it. Those who are diabetic

can enjoy such a juice without worrying about

the blood sugar complications. When one is

suffering from acute dehydration, it is

recommended that one drinks this juice as it

helps to boost the blood sugar levels as well as

removes fatigue. Those who suffer from fever

and have loss of protein from the system, they

will ???nd that consumption of sugarcane juice

leads to supplementing the body with necessary

protein. The body temperature is brought down

and one can recuperate faster. Those who suffer

from jaundice are provided sugarcane juice to

recuperate faster. Digestion is assisted as well

as constipation, due to the high level of

potassium content. Wound healing properties
