Dear Members,
It was yet another exciting month starting
with a joint event with the district
???Sambhrama??? celebrating Karnataka Rajyotsava. Mid-town also
inaugurated the 100 wheel chair project in aid of Bangalore
metro, a very exciting event where we got a tour of the Metro
works in progress hundreds of feet below ground, can’t wait to use
our ???Namma??? metro service.
Mid Town also participated in the inauguration of Manandi Rotary
Midtown Mother and Child Care Centre and Manandi Rotary
Midtown Blood Collection Centre at Rangadore Memorial Hospital,
a very exciting and useful project within the Rangadore hospital
system which the club has been supporting for some time now.
Apart from this, we had the ICGF as well as the anns Project of
lunchbox distribution as well as ???Ek Muthi Bhar Anaj??? where we
met with Mr. Auto Raja who’s truly inspiring and ???nally an
educational visit to IISC, the oldest temple of science, in our very
own Namma Bengaluru.
Lots of exciting events in November and we continue with many
more in December.
Regards
Narendra Pasuparthy
Secretary Ry 2016-17
MESSAGE FROM THE
PRESIDENT:
Dearest Friends,
I was at Community Services ICGF on 3rd Dec
morning and heard Dr Manjunath say that
heart is the most philanthropic organ, it works tirelessly 24/7 for
all the organs and retains only 5% of the total blood being pumped
to all the organs. He further equated it to the Rotarians in our
Society, working towards making a difference! Through our
vocations and in our clubs, in our communities, and across
continents, we are touching the lives of people we don’t know and
might never meet. And in every part of the world, every single
day, whether they know it or not, people are living better, safer,
and healthier lives because of the work of Rotary. The people we
help might not have met a single Rotarian. They might not even
know that Rotary exists. But they are drinking clean water from a
bore well that Rotary dug. They’re learning to read with books
that Rotary gave them. They’re living lives that are better,
happier, and healthier ??? because of Rotary Serving Humanity. I
feel privileged to be amidst so many of our large hearted
midtowner family members! We need every large heart to keep
the society functioning , feeding the hungry, taking care of the ill
and showing hope and love to our not so fortunate fellow men.
While on hearts… another line from PDG Nagesh that stayed with
me is that the best exercise for our heart is when we bend down
to pick up our brethren from the realms of hunger and despair and
carry them up to levels of hopefulness again. The best thing
about doing good is, the feel good factor for yourself. We are into
the last month of the year 2016 , Christmas and holiday season ,
lots of festivities, wish everyone a very happy time , enjoyment
and fun!! Keep smiling, giving and meeting your Midtown family!
Warmest wishes
Nishu Jouhari
President RY 2016-17.

Glad to share:
The Rotary Foundation has received the highest
poss ible score from Cha rity Naviga tor, an
independent evaluator of charities in the U.S. In the
most recent ratings, released on 1 September, The
Rotary Foundation earned the maximum 100 points
for both demonstrating strong ???nancial health and
commitment to accountability and transparency. The
Foundation also received its ninth straight 4-star
rating from Charity Navigator. “Attaining a 4-star
rating veri???es that The Rotary Foundation of Rotary
International exceeds industry standards and
outperforms most charities in your area of work,”
said Charity Navigator President and CEO Michael
Thatcher in a letter to General Secretary John
Hewko. Thatcher added that only one percent of
charities the organization evaluates have received at
least nine consecutive 4-star evaluations, setting
“The Rotary Foundation apart from its peers and
demonstrates to the public its trustworthiness.” The
ratings re???ect how ef???ciently Charity Navigator
believes the Foundation will use donations, how well
it has sustained programs and services, and its level
of commitment to good governance and openness. In
2013, The Rotary Foundation earned a grade of A+
from the American Institute of Philanthropy, a top
rating of four stars from Charity Navigator, and full
accreditation from the Wise Giving Alliance of the
Better Business Bureau, based on the previous year’s
results. In ???scal year 2012-13, only 2 percent of
Foundation expenditures went to administrative
expenses and 9 percent to fundraising. The
Foundation directed 89 percent of its spending to
programs, far exceeding the benchmarks that
independent charity–rating services view as a
measure of high ef???ciency.

Ek Muthi Bhar Anaj
Tuesday 22nd November 2016
Our Annes completed two beautiful projects
bene???tting v well deserving recipients in the last 3
days. Muthi bhar Anaj – First lot of 350 kgs of Dal
given to ” Home of Hope” run by Auto Raja – amazing
work being done by this gentleman and his family. He
picks up people from road side, discarded by family
and society – in unexplainable physically deformed
and mentally deranged state and nurses them back
to normalcy. It was so tough to even see the state of
the people that were being brought to his home …
overwhelming respect for the person who realized
every life needs to be nurtured with love and
compassion. Couldn’t be a better place for our little
gesture. Rtn Namrata , President Rtn Nishu Jouhari,
Ann Nandita Sanghani attended the event .
